The Five

Some of these items are recently acquired; others have been on my person for half of my life. Anyway, here is a summary of items I am most attached to:
  1. Serotonin Necklace
    • I rarely take it off. Gifted to me by someone I love fiercely. Not sterling silver or any delicate material for that matter, so it goes into the ocean with me as well. I’ve finally been officially diagnosed with persistent depressive disorder, obviously per the DSM. I guess I just don’t produce enough of the good stuff. It’s a good reminder to myself that it’s absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. I have had several people recognize it and tell me of loved ones lost to suicide, or of their own afflictions. So yes, it is a conversation piece, but it mostly holds its own as it is.
  2. ZX2 Chaco (Cloud)

  3. Hydroflask (16 oz)
    • This one I bought from my favorite coffee shop on Maui. It’s engraved and heavily covered in dents and stickers. Some of the paint is chipping off as well. And I have replaced the cap thrice already. Every time I drink water from it, it tastes faintly of espresso no matter how hard or long I scrub. A well-used hydroflask is well-loved.
  1. Prana Women’s Sage Convertable Pants

  2. 3M Littmann Classic 3 (Raspberry tubing with rainbow chrome finish)
